MAC Russian Red is a rich, medium-dark red with a matte finish. It had rich color payoff that adhered evenly and smoothly on my lips. It had a lightly creamy consistency that helped it glide across my lips without tugging. There was a touch of slip that seemed to ease a bit of product into my deeper lip lines, but it wasn’t noticeable from a normal viewing distance. This shade stayed on nicely for six hours, left a soft, reddish stain behind, and was neither drying nor hydrating.
